Friday, 05th December 2025: There was a critical surge of more than 4.35% in the shares of SEAMEC, as the stock reached ₹1014 per share on Friday, after the company’s announcement of signing a major charter-hire agreement worth $43.07 million with HAL Offshore Ltd. The orders relate to the deployment of vessel SEAMEC Agastya, and it is a critical step in enhancing the revenue visibility of the company. 

Details of the Charter Hire Deal

The company’s regulatory filing suggests that it has entered into a five-year agreement as per which SEAMEC Agastya will be deployed offshore for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). The rate of hiring the charter per day is $25000 as per the agreement, taking the total value of the contract to around $43.07 million. It is a related party transaction since HAL owns more than 70% ownership in SEAMEC. 

Stock Price Movement

As underlined, the stock reached ₹1014 (4.35% more than the previously closing price) around 02:30 PM. After today’s surge, the company’s share has risen by 13.54% in the past six months but has provided -15.41% negative returns YTD. The company’s PE ratio is 28.10 compared to the market average of 41.31. 

Strategic Importance of the Deal

With this contract, SEAMEC’s Agastya deployment under ONGC operations through HAL offshore will help in ensuring critical revenue visibility for the company in the next few quarters. It also consolidates SEAMEC’s position in the offshore sector of the country. 

SEAMEC Limited provides offshore services and specializes in areas such as subsea engineering, vessel operations, and deep-sea support services. The company primarily provides its services to the oil and gas sectors. The majority ownership of the company is in HAL’s hands. It has prominent clients like ONGC and other offshore contractors.
